Mug

To create my mug I rolled out a slab of  slay and rolled it around a bottle of paint to make sure it was perfectly round. The next step was to put a base on it and add a decorative handle. My handle was just a rolled out piece of clay that I made into half a square. The last step of completing my mug was to glaze it, I covered my mug in white glaze and the next day once it was dry I splattered color on top of color for the design.

Box

To make my box I started by making six 5 by 5 squares of clay,then I connected the slaps at the edges to for a box without a top. With the sixth piece of clay I made a lid, to make the lid I had to add a ridge on the bottom of it and a handle on top of it. The design of my box was a dice. I glazed it so that the dots were black and the box was white to represent a dice.

Pinch Pot

To create my pinch pot I started with a ball and clay and slowly worked a whole into the middle with my thumb. I kept on increasing the size of the hole until the walls of the pot were as thick as my thumb. I then smoothed out the sides and bottom of my pot. The last step I did was add holes through the walls of the pot too add texture and a unique design to the pot.

Wire Sculpture

My first project I did this year in ceramics was my Wire Sculpture, I used wires to form a 3 dimentional  turtle. To make this sculpture I had to cut and bend wires to the shape of a shell, them I added a head and tail. To make this sculpture 3 dimensional I made the shell into a dome. Once I finished the formation of the turtle I paper mached multiple layers onto it. Once it dried I painted it green and added brown texture to the top of the shell.
